The Floating Opera

  •          This book still continues in its funny manner even though the subject matter is grim at times which is awesome; it keeps my attention. In the beginning of this section we hear a lot of things about Father Mack, especially about his love for writing wills. Why do you guys think that he did this? Did you enjoy that bit of information?
  •      I thought that it was pretty interesting how on Page 100 it says that "An act of will is the easiest thing there is- so easy it's laughable how people make mountains out of it." and then goes on to say at the bottom of the page: "There's little need for weakness, reader: you are freer, perhaps, than you'd be comfortable knowing." This statement I found to be very interesting and I couldn't help but think about even as I continued reading. What did you guys think of this?
  •       What did you guys think of his comparison of Capt. Osborn and his colleagues to Oysters? I thought that it was hilarious. Pg.113
  •      On the start of page 117 we start to get a glimpse into his life as a younger lad which is pretty interesting. He describes his relationship with his father as distant. I also think that the description of his relationship with Betty June is super entertaining and hilarious especially when he describes how she took his "spiritual virginity" Pg 118. This was definitely the best part of the book for me so far.
